Ah, posted on Charlie's thread before I saw this. I am please for Jonny xThere is a new Beagle in town! His name is Chester, he's five months old and his new human is Jonny, who lost the lovely Charlie Beagle a couple of weeks ago. Jonny describes him as a coping mechanism rather than a replacement, in that because of Chester he has to get up and get on with life, which he was finding difficult since Charlie went.Joy and I haven't met him yet but hope to soon. The other good news is that he has raised enough to buy the drone for the area to help in the search for other dogs who go missing. I understand that it's to be called 'Charlie's Angel'. Many thanks to those of you who kindly contributed.![]()
Is she related to you?

OK, @SwampDonkey I know that the hair thing wasn't the important part of your post, but you know me being obsessed over hair. How did you end up getting STRAIGHT hair from chemo? I went from straight hair to chemo curls that still haven't entirely gone away after 7 flipping years. Did your hair not get the memo that it was supposed to get curlier, not go all straight?!She came up and asked when did I have my hair straightened it looks great. I had to explain giggling that I haven't it's my chemo but I'm hoping it will go curly again now I'm in the process of coming off it.
she's my best friends daughterIs she related to you?
(that sounds cheeky.....)
The drug altered the Jak2 element enough that it altered the shape of my hair follicles and made some of the curly hair drop out. I've still got a bit of a kink in the longest part which is the oldest hair. I wouldn't recommend it as a hair straightening techniqueOK, @SwampDonkey I know that the hair thing wasn't the important part of your post, but you know me being obsessed over hair. pee ess I'm glad you had such a nice chat with your friend, sounds like you both needed some commiseration and a good laugh.
No kidding! When my hair was at it's curliest, people used to tell me how they wished they could get curls like that. I would tell them "Well, you could try chemo!" and laugh. Most people thought that was SO not funny. I guess you kind of have to be there to see the funny side of your hair going all wonky. You have to find something amusing about chemo, right?I wouldn't recommend it as a hair straightening technique![]()
A lot of things about cancer are funny if you're in there. I remember being in so much pain in hospital they gave me loads and loads of "stuff" I couldn't stand move or walk. At some point in the very early morning me and another equily stoned patient were having races round the beds and down the corridor of our bay. We were giggling so much, we got chased back to bed by a laughing nurse. I work in the same hospital as my race mate and see her occasionally, we still giggle about it. I can remember laughing but not why really. Loads of funny things have happened I've made great life long friends because of a nasty diseaseNo kidding!
