Xena ate a plate of afghans 18 months ago. I didn't even realise immediately because I'd had guests over and completely forgot that I'd left the plate unattended when we were saying our goodbyes. The ritual puking only cost the equivalent of 40£, what did they use to purge him to justify 300?! She was a sorry sight for a few hours and was fine afterwards. No charcoal. Mas'll be right as rain tomorrow but I know he must have given you a fright! What an egg!

Just seeing this...I don't even know what to say. Maybe :facepalm: ? Simply because Mas seems to be going for some sort of veterinary record?

While he looks utterly pitiful in that photo, I'm reserving most of my sympathy for you and your OH. Your nerves must be shot.

Very glad he's doing well and hope you can breath a sigh of relief. I'm sorry you missed out on the brownies - that just adds insult to injury.

Re: swallowing stuff whole, is this a Lab thing? Last weekend I gave Carbon chicken wings and they came back up whole...TWICE. Yuck, yuck. He was in the back of the car the first 'return' so I couldn't stop him from having another go, but the second time they returned (at home) and he dove for them, I was able to prevent them from going down again.

Though to give credit where credit is due, hats off to Mas: it takes a lot more skill to snarf down brownies whole and keep them intact than a chicken wing.

Oh Mas! Just catching up on this. I bet the brownies didn’t smell as if they’d just come out of the oven, though! Just as well you got him to the vet quickly.

That injection cost does sound steep. When my two ate the mushrooms/toadstools I think each injection was £80. Did he need more than one injection? Wispa needed two.

I have no idea. They calculated in on his weight... and having never had a dog with such suicidal tendencies before I just assumed that was the right cost!

However... word to the wise. Amorphine makes Mas incredibly hyperactive. At 1am this morning I was walking the little shit up and down the roads whilst he pranced around like bloody Rudolph on Christmas Eve. This was after a 25 minute zoomie 😂😂😂😂

When Carbon snacked on rat poison in Italy and we had to go to the vet, it was about the same cost less the out of hours fee. It was eye drops to induce vomiting, more eye drops to stop the vomiting then a morphine injection.
