Embedding a post from Facebook

Sometimes, it's nice to share posts we see on Facebook. To make it so that we can see the whole post inline and interact with is as if we were in FB itself, use these steps. This is for a browser on a computer; I need to check how it's done on mobile (if someone else doesn't beat me to it).

1. Ensure the post is public. See the grey globe next to the date stamp? That's what you need to see.

2. Click on those three dots at the top right of the post and choose "Embed".

3. You'll get a popup window that looks like this. Choose "Advanced Settings".

4. This opens another full page. Find the URL link - the words will be slightly different depending on whether it's a video, picture or normal post. Check the "Include full post" box and copy the URL.

5. Come back to the forum and paste the URL into your post. The Facebook content will display nicely embedded and fully interactive, as below!

I don’t know what I’ve done @snowbunny but I have accidentally pressed something that says I am ignoring you - didn’t mean to honest - can you undo it? Sorry. Am flat on my back having treatment on my knees and trying to look at forum stuff on my phone - not ideal!!

I can't actually change that for you, but if you click on my avatar, you should see an "Unignore" button to click :)

Can't see the video , again !! :(

That's weird! Are you on a computer or mobile device? What browser?
It's the same on both my phone and tablet so Android and using chrome as the browser. I haven't tried on my laptop (using IE) haven't logged on from there as I couldn''t remember my password (well I was enjoying myself in Italy at the time and there may have been a glass or two of wine involved) but I will give it a go

@snowbunny, no. I get the boxer at the start of the video with the arrow to click on. No title showing, just 'posted by VT' and the FB logo. When I click to play it goes black with like a little 'box' type sign and the 'doughnut' working away. Playing around before posting I just clicked on the FB logo and that takes me through to the video on FB....
How weird

It sounds like it's a bug with Chrome on Android if I'm honest. I can't test as I don't have any Android devices. I can only suggest you run any updates that might be available, but after that, I think it might just be a case of waiting for them to fix it.

I think it's a recent update that's the problem as I've seen the poblem in the last couple of days. At least if all else fails I can watch on laptop then revert to mobile/tablet to comment ?. Gotta love modern technology ???
