    Poorly Nelly

So pleased Reuben has turned the corner. And don’t we all like a good poo. Let us know when it’s completely normal so that we can all rejoice together! 😁

It is so hard. And thinking that the decision lies with you is excruciatingly painful. I’m so pleased she has happy moments.

Harness - worth persevering or not?

I recall reading that pulling on a collar can lead to tracheal collapse. I guess pulling on any restraint can cause damage; just need to weigh up the riskier body part. I think the neck is the most risky to damage, which is why I prefer a harness. At our first dog school, the dogs had to wear...

Aw look at her in those photos. Poor little patient. I hope she heals quickly and that the tests come back normal.

    Chewing everything

You will look kindly on those little teeth marks in years to come! Snowie left teeth marks in our wooden stair and a wooden door. We love them now! But I wasn’t happy when he chewed my specs!

    Sully ā¤ļø

What a good boy, Sully! ā¤ļø You did your gwanny proud! ā¤ļø Does anyone tell the instructor the dogs are being set up to fail? If I’d had this insight when Snowie was a puppy, I’d have left the class. He failed at every class for 1.5 years until we found an instructor who set up each puppy to...

    Snowie

Thank you for the encouragement. I did call and their phones were down!! My call went through to the receptionist’s mobile number and the connection was terrible. Tried a few times and gave up. And decided to just carry on with the treatment.

    Snowie

Thank you for your kind words. I often feel I’ve failed Snowie, think he’d had a much better life had we got him a mate at home. And had children! He loves both dogs and children and lots of activity around him! Instead he got a very quiet home. But yes, we (my husband plays an equal part)...

The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Hilarious! Our tour/boat manager, Tanja, was the kindest person who made such an effort to look after everyone. But we did find her use of language and communication amusing, wondering if it was a direct translation thing. She’d say things like: ā€œHow was your meal? Maybe you liked it? Maybe...

The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Sorry about the 3-day ticket you couldn’t use. That’s a real bummer. I’m disappointed they wouldn’t allow Carbon, although not surprised. At least they allow guide dogs (I’ve heard worse about many other places). I always say, if the Michelin star restaurants in Germany allow dogs, why not...

The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Korcula is lovely. Perfect town planning in a herringbone design to allow breezes on one side and no wind on the other. I was so impressed! We went up the tower. More terrifying than the roads! A staircase that ends in a potential death fall if your foot slips. And a tiny area at the top with a...

The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

I prefer driving little roads from town to town. But we were told this park was a Must See, and with our limited time, we took the most direct route. As for the park. Meh. It was pretty. But soooo expensive. And we got there so early that the sun wasn’t at the correct angle to make the lakes...

    Poppy

Those up and down days are a rollercoaster. Thinking of you and Poppy. We have similar with Snowie. At our visit with the vet last week, he said Snowie will live forever—he was so bright and cheerful. But in the last few days he’s erupted in infected sores and his limp has worsened and he’s been...
