Thanks for asking @Cath . The sedation wore off early evening and he was a bit whiney . Although the main nail wasnt removed , Sue did have to dig deep to get the sharp side piece out and it was obviously hurting him . I have pardale painkillers for him as he cant tolerate NSAID`s so he had one...

Bless Sue , she was mindful that I didnt want GA , and as sedation didnt work last time , she devised a cunning plan :clap: She sedated him in the crate , then covered the crate over and turned out all the lights , ten minutes later he was asleep xxx

Really great news :clap: Sedation worked this time , phew ! Sue has not had to do anything invasive , she has clipped away all the loose bits and trimmed right down , so no removal , no bleeding , no bandage, yippeee :nod: She has had a close look at the nail which has grown from the removal...

As usual , Sue was lovely when I took Reuben in , answering all my questions with patience and honesty , even asking how Nelly was doing too . I feel happier now , my mind easier and so we wait for them to call us . Reuben went in with his usual enthusiasm , greeting all the nurses with licks...

I had to smile , they were both in the kitchen, sitting side by side looking up at their dishes when I saw Reubs leaning towards Nelly . Could imagine him whispering , this means one of us is going to the Vets xx
