I was so proud of Reuben last night when I put his buster collar on at bed time , he just accepted it and went to sleep using it like a pillow , he never moved bless him . He still has five days of antibiotics left to take, which he eats like treats , Vets for a check in the morning xx

It looks awful but no puss or swelling so I guess we just have to wait for the antibiotics to kick in xxx

I`m afraid he is going to have to wear his inflatable collar when we are not with him , he was on the bed last night and was licking at it, so needs must . In himself he seems alright, tail still wags , eating and drinking fine but oh it does look so sore . I am to keep it open to the air unless...

I could weep for him , he has had so much to cope with this year and we have been so very vigilant with this nail malarky . I wont take him out today, he is pretty zoned out with painkiller and the antibiotic shot , so he can stay home, stay warm xx

Oh dear , Reuben has an infection in the nail bed . Vet has cleaned it up and is reluctant to wrap it again, rather to let air to it . He has had an antibiotic injection and another course to take, back on Monday morning xx

He is brighter in himself this morning after a really good nights sleep . Vets at 9 for the bandage off which will make him so much happier xxx

He hates it,but its only for outdoor use, hopefully bandage off in the morning xx

Here he is , plastic bag over the bandage as I`m told to keep the dressing dry . He enjoyed a ten minute walk on lead at Golitha and had a :poo: :clap: No more outings today xxx

Feeling very sorry for himself xx I will put the dreaded plastic bag over his bandage and take him on lead walk for ten minutes as he is reluctant to have a :poo: on the garden . I think he will feel better once the bandage has been taken off on Friday morning xx

Unfortunately , not much sleep was had , I was expecting it as he always reacts to GA . However, in true Labrador style , he has eaten a good breakfast :nod:

This evening we have a little whimpering which I expected as he usually reacts to GA . I have to put a plastic bag over the bandage when he goes outside as it must be kept as dry as possible but he hates it . We are off to bed very soon , hoping he will settle on the bed with me , bless xx

He is home, had an endless tiddle , ate a salmon tea and now zonked out but his tail is still wagging . He has a bandage on which can be taken off at his check up on Friday, bless him xxx

Vet nurse has just rung and unfortunately, Reubs had a have a GA as the sedation wasnt working well enough and the nail was , in their words ` messy to remove ` . He is awake but still woozy so we can collect him at about 3. p.m. I so want our boy back with us xxxx

No , we are waiting for the call to pick him up , early afternoon we were told xx

I took him in at 9 , they will ring me when he is ready to collect . Oh I do so hate it, when they cant have breakfast especially , and you get that penetrating stare :(

Reuben has to have the nail removed tomorrow morning, under sedation . Its a particularly nasty split , right down the side and whilst he is sedated , they are going to removed a small amount of tartar from his two top canines . She said it didnt warrant a full dental but whilst he is sedated...

Reubs is booked for a check on his nail tomorrow morning . It looks a lot better but is still moving so as advised last week , he is having it looked at so I just hope he wont have to have it removed . He hasnt been to Playgroup for almost two weeks now because he is such a tank , I dont want to...
