    Bedtime

I think we might be experiencing a small teenage rebellion. As rebellions go it’s not exactly major. Hunter has decided he’d rather sleep on the couch at night or ideally with me rather than in his crate. It’s my fault of course. To begin with it was just after I let him out for his 3am wee. We...

    Homer being sick

Great news @JES72 . Hopefully Homer is now over this recent blip. Keeping that much food down sounds very positive.

    Still in a dither

@M.F. I was thinking the same to be honest. If I did apologise I’d be apologising for the way I spoke not what I said. If she accepts my apology great if not then that’s her problem. I can’t see her apologising but you never know. It would be interesting to see what would happen.

    Hunter

@Selina27 Every time I look at the calendar I think that’s my dog  It’s hard to believe he was so small just six months ago.

    Still in a dither

@Anne123 Thats an awful thing to happen to you and Finn. I’m so sorry. I can assure you if this woman had even slightly apologised I wouldn’t have reacted the way I did. I only put my foot out at the dog to keep it away from Hunter it wasn’t a kick so I’m not sure under what circumstances she’d...

    Still in a dither

Thank you all very much for your support and kind words it makes me feel a lot better. Exactly Karen as would I. I always apologised profusely when Scott and Scout reacted to another dog or person and I always had them on lead with head collars. Even with Hunter when he bounces, bows and barks...

    Still in a dither

@Selina27 Thanks Selina. Yes I should’ve added that Hunter didn’t seem bothered in the slightest by the growling dog. He was probably more bothered by his growling owner

    Still in a dither

Yesterday afternoon a loose dog came running onto my cousins front lawn where me and Hunter (on lead) were talking to her OH. It came up to Hunter growling. I kicked my foot out to keep it away it did make contact but not hard. At the same time I was shouting at the owner get your dog on a lead...

    Adopting a Labrador

@Hollysdad Ive just read the whole thread and caught up on all you’ve been going through. I was glad when I got to the end to find out you’ve got an appointment and a good possibility of a new pup. I hope everything now goes to plan and 2024 is a wonderful year for you all after everything...

    Hunter

Hunter had only been inside their house once before although we play in their garden on a regular basis, in fact he’s just been butt tucking round it on the way back from our walk. There were 12 people eating, drinking, making lots of noise some he’d only met once or twice. He wasn’t...

    Hunter

I know Christmas was a long time ago now but I just realised I haven’t told you about Hunter’s Christmas and that really I could do to record the event so when things go pear shaped and I’m pulling out my hair I can look back and see it really did happen.;) Well Hunter’s first Christmas was...

Do they know the difference between breeds ?

It wasn’t such a daft question then . It’s really interesting and lovely to read how you’ve all experienced similar with the, as @Emily_Babbelhund wonderfully put it, The Labrador Club and their love for “Dogs that look like me”.:hearteyesdog:

Do they know the difference between breeds ?

We had an interesting meet and greet this morning. Hunter still greets new dogs on lead like he did when he was small. Sniffs nose, bounces away, barks, bows, bounces about, especially if the other dog is interested in him. He also still greets new humans that way too. This morning on our walk...

    Reubens pad

@kateincornwall Just caught up on Reuban’s war wound Kate. Murphy took a slice off his carpel pad once. Similar scenes of a bloody massacre as you had. I was expecting a massive wound but when I cleaned it up it was smaller than my little finger nail. It was just a case of keeping it clean and...

    Homer being sick

@JES72 Catching up on Homer the poor lad. I can appreciate how worried an frustrated you must be. Both Scott and Scout lost weight because they went off their food so I know what it’s like trying to get enough food down without causing tummy issues. I didn’t get to the point were supplements...

Future Chocco Boy (Welcome Hugo Bear! )

Gorgeous. Good luck with your teenager @Kelsey :fingers:. Hunter has reverted back to chewing and once again I seem to have my hand in a dogs mouth rather a lot. To be fair his drop is pretty instant these days and while he definitely tries to push his luck on occasion a slight change in...

    I feel awful

@Lisa I’m just catching up Lisa and I’m so sorry your going through this. I’m sure I’ll repeat what others have said. Simba is not a dangerous dog he is a nervous dog. As you know there’s a big difference between an aggressive dog and a nervous dog. An aggressive dog bites a nervous dog snaps...
