A comparison of gazing behaviour across three dog breeds tested in their familiar environments

This study made me laugh out loud.

Three dog breeds - Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs, GSDs and Labradors - were compared to see how long they persevered at an unsolvable task before they gazed at the human in the room. There were actually 2 humans in the room - one was the owner and one the experimenter who was clearly manipulating the experiment. The CWs persevered longer at the task with minimal reference to the humans, and then looked at the experimenter. The GSDs persevered slightly less and looked at their owner most often. The labradors spent the least time on the task and the most time gazing at both humans in the room :)
