Weather

My soon to be DIL was in Cairns a couple of weeks ago. 30+ and 100% humidity she says was intolerable.
My parents live about 60-70km north of Cairns. March is the wettest month but surprisingly not the hardest to cope with. Nov and Dec are really really hard as the humidity continues to climb but with no sight of rain. Once the rain breaks through, you actually get a bit of relief!

Definitely no need for πŸ™ reactions - they chose the location for their retirement and love it! My boys clearly hate visiting... Screenshot_20240313_203850_Photos.jpg

I feel I'm never going to get my garden sorted. Lost a couple of plants to frost in the last few weeks. Nothing major, but part of my supermarket "oh that looks nice for a change" purchases.

It was surprisingly dry yesterday underfoot, and I decided to cut my grass (first time since autumn, it was looking dreadful). Poop picked, moved all the sticks and debris off it, nice dry feet, surprisingly, then OH says, give it a couple more hours.......
Reluctantly did (I mean, you have to let them get their way sometime).
Suffice to say, finished off the cutting in a heavy rain/hailstone shower ....... sigh.
Well, at least it's done, no finesse, but it's done......

"We" got our grass cut for the first time this year on Sunday, boy it was desperate. Then on Monday it tipped it down again and the garden is a quagmire, I was slip sliping abput doing the poo pick. Glad we manage that 1st cut on Sunday. Still need to cut the grass at the front. Friday and Saturday are forecast fine, so fingers corssed.

I'm sorry for your rain, we had three years of La Nina where it seemed to rain ALL the time and it was depressing

We are having a last ditch bit of mild summer which is nice; but it won't be long until the ugghies (Ugh boots) and doona (quilt/eiderdown) emerge and the thongs (flip flops/jandals) get put away
