Chatsworth?

I know this place ( I hope ! ) because I lived very close to it in a former life ! Chatsworth House , my favourite stately home xxx

Yes it’s Chatsworth House. We have just had a super week in the Derbyshire Dales and we went there one day. They had their Christmas Fayre on so it was heaving around that bit but we went for a walk around the gardens - it was just lovely. More photos to follow

We stayed in a beautiful converted Forge near Alderwasley, in the Derbyshire Dales - it had everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. The kitchen was divine (the owners make bespoke furniture). We took a lot of food as we were situated a bit out the way (I wasn’t overly keen on the single track roads particularly as some drivers drove very fast but that was the only negative) and I really enjoyed the hi tech kitchen. Every evening we lit the wood burner so we were very cosy. We did loads of walking especially in the local woods - Shining Cliff Woods. Some days we saw no one and others we met other dog walkers - some were very friendly and chatty - especially one man who had a gorgeous Labrador just like Red. She and Red had a great play whilst we talked all things Labrador . Chatsworth, Matlock, Belper and Carsington Water were a few of the places we visited.
Red has been a star the whole time - she’s a joy to take on holiday .

Wow Alison that all looks fabulous, chatsworth is so beautiful. Great shot,the one third from the bottom. I love Red looking like she wants to see what F has spotted!

Wonderful photos and memories , I could see the fountain from my bedroom window in Calver village and also worked at the Chatsworth cafe when it very first opened Of course this was many years ago when the Dowager Duchess was alive , she was a hoot and not amiss to clearing tables if needed. What a lovely set of photos , thanks for sharing x

What a gorgeous set of photos - I love that first one especially. I'm a big fan of dogs in front of historical places.

The holiday house looks really nice too - a winner adventure all around!

Lovely photos @Atemas, especially Red looking to see what your OH was photographing. For the first time in years, your photos made me want to go away and what an amazing kitchen.

I had a sunset like that here, was up on the common and looking north, just that slash or red.

Oh thank you for that wonderful video . I do miss the Derbyshire Dales. I originally come from just outside Derby, so the Dales hold many fond childhood memories and my first camping trip experience! DoveDale Stepping stones and Matlock/Black Rock were our family picnic destinations. I so love the splendor of Chatsworth house and the wonderful grounds. I am so glad you all had a wonderful time. X
