Puppy coming next week

Not for me, and not a Labrador :)

My daughter, who is living with me while she saves up for her own house, cannot wait any longer for a dog of her own, and has chosen a puppy from a friends litter of spaniel / collie crosses and little Reeva arrives next week :dug:, on Tuesday.

My daughter has not been furloughed and will be working from home for the foreseeable future, and even when her office does re open will probably do 50/50 home and office. So why wait any longer?!!

So we will be spending the weekend moving furniture around to put up the crate and puppy pen, L is so excited shopping for Reeva, all this girl wants in life is things to love

It's going to be interesting seeing how Cass responds , she's had precious little experience of dogs visiting her home, and I can't she her in the responsible older dog role, but we'll see. We're arranging the furniture so that both will have there own space when necessary.

So, @Natalie , I'm following your threads with extra interest !!

How exciting and lovely for your daughter. As others have said, little Reeva will be a blast of bursting energy and enthusiasm from day 1.

Our spaniel Max, like @Jelinga 's first dog didn't stop until the day before he died at 13.5 and then only because his hind legs gave up working.

I'll also be fascinated to hear Cassie's reaction. I get the feeling she'll be quite bossy but more than happy to play with the pup.

Have fun and enjoy :happyfeet: :tail:

Haha, yes @Jen and @Jelinga , Reeva is likely to be high energy, but my daughter is young and full of life herself, and she's grown up with collies. The plan is that she will spend time on the farm with L and her boyfriend, when lockdown restrictions ease. Although only 18 miles away, he is Wales, so I don't know when that will be.

I bet Cassie will be thrilled to have a live-in buddy.
This could well be the problem ! She's so zenned these days that I'm not sure how it will go, but she's going to find life different initially for sure. She's very much a "only dog" :hearteyesdog:
