Today my dog surprised me.....

By very enthusiastically eating raw swede peelings!
She loves raw carrot but won't eat raw parsnip, potato or apple peel. She was watching me peeling the swede and drooling so I said, 'Well you can try it, but I don't think you'll like it. ' She loved it! That's another inexpensive low fat treat for her!

Cassie eats swede, but not parsnip. She does love a cabbage stalk, I guess swede is not that dissimilar

Does she like celery? Carbon's SD trainer recommended it as a 'low value treat' and he thinks it's AMAZING. So much for "low" value.

Actually Joy loves cabbage and broccoli stalks, so that's a good point about the similarity to swede.

I dropped a little gem lettuce on the floor the other day , Reubs ate it in fact I have yet to find a food he wont scoff , Nelly is a little more discerning

Mine (led by Tuppence, of course) have got into the habit of following me into the kitchen when I go to prepare supper in the hope that they’ll get some peelings. They‘ve had apple and carrot this evening and Tuppy had a sneaky bit of parsnip, but Wispa doesn’t like it. Both love swede.
They look very miffed if it’s a ‘quick’ meal and I use frozen veg!

Carbon loves any kind of lettuce and is right there when I'm making a salad. I've also have yet to find a food he wouldn't eat. Or a non food he wouldn't eat.

Yep. My dad fed them to him when we were in California. The first couple slices he spit out and picked up and spit out again. Then he slurped them down like a pro.

Willow drools more for oranges/mandarins/clementines than she does for hot chicken. Best food ever!!!

The only things Maxx won't eat are lettuce and anything citrus. He goes ape for carrot and capsicum
