Announcing Light Pink :)

Hi Everyone!

New member just saying hi, thanks to the little bundle of joy below. We’ve had her two weeks on Saturday, and this site has already proved useful (crocapups cheered me right up, because my arms / hands currently resemble something you might see on Casualty).

Amazingly she already knows the word ‘dinner’ (VERY responsive 😂), she can sit on command and takes herself out / asks for most (not quite all) of her toilet needs. In other words, we’re doing the proud parent thing and declaring our pup the smartest there has ever been!

We’re currently trying a system where we have an Apple HomePod (Amazon Alexa equivalent) set to play an alarm chime for all of her feeding times. She’s starting to recognise that the alarm means we do her food, so we’re hoping this will reduce the anxiety between meals by giving her a call sign for feeds rather than relying on our whereabouts / behaviour. Out of interest, has anyone tried anything similar?

Lovely to meet you all, thanks for all the advice I’ve already gobbled up before posting.

Mike

Welcome, what a cutie! Our puppy (now a big puppy) was "light pink" collar puppy in her litter, so her name and registered name is a play on that.

Welcome! Oh my goodness she’s beautiful. Definitely stick around and keep us updated with her mischief making.

Hi Mike, she's a little beauty. We've never had a puppy so not had the chance to try the chime method. The Guide Dog puppy folk (@Boogie ) use the recall whistle at feeding time to help train recall...similar?

A big welcome to you Pink and Mike from me and my small black GoodGirlJoy, aka GGJ here in West Yorkshire. Joy drew blood from me on a daily basis and also tore holes in clothes during her Crocopup days(she Really doesn't like me talking about this) but is now the gentlest dog you could wish to meet, with a lovely dose of playfulness added in. Looking forward to hearing much more about your times with Pink.
