As I was drying Joy after her walk and swim thismorning I found a lump at the top of her right ear, on the inside just where it joins her head. It's about the size of a large pea and doesn't seem to be bothering her but she doesn't like me trying to look at it and lies down on her back with her paws in the air when I do. Up to see the vet thisafternoon. She doesn't think it's an abscess, more likely a cyst or a tumour. She has drawn some fluid from it to be sent for investigation and the results should be back by the middle of next week. I said that it seems to have come on very quickly, I have to dry Joy most days at this time of year and only noticed it today. The vet said that's not necessarily a bad thing, apparently there is a benign cancer that comes on very quickly, in which case it would just be a matter of removing it. Joy is absolutely fine in herself, as lively and full of energy as ever, but of course I can't help but worry somewhat. So fingers crossed everyone please, and maybe a Lambie or two?
