Hacking Up :(

Keep away from Google! Try not to worry, though of course you will! The hacking subsided so even though it has reappeared when she lies on her side, it could be a sign that it is getting better and this is the last residual of whatever it was. xx

Just got back from the vet not my usual one. A thorough check up showed no problem with Hattie's heart or lungs which is a big relief as that was my biggest worry. Her temperature was on the high side of normal whatever that means  Nothing in her throat, no lumps or swollen glands, nothing. She said incase there was an infection as she coughed up phelgm once she gave an antibiotic and anti inflamatory shots, also metacam if needed. Have a 5 day cause of ABs and if it doesn't stop by the time we get back from Scotland in 2 weeks I have to take her back for investigation. She said as she's so normal in every other way it's a little odd and especially as she doesn't cough during or after exercise, only at night. She also advised buying Children's Benylyn for dry coughs and halve the dosage.

I also asked again about her tripping up. For a while Hattie has been tripping up on and off lead sometimes several times a day, the vet thinks that it could be her 'glassy' eyes affecting her walking. I have talked to my vet about this before but she has never been concerned. I have to watch her and if I feel it's getting worse they will do some tests. I'm not convinced.

Thanks for all your messages of concern, I really appreciate it. xxx

I don't know what to think Alison, I hope the ABs do the trick. The tripping has been ongoing for a long time but nobody seems to be worried or offer any explanation apart from what I have been told today. Frustrating. xx
