Just come back from a very wet walk at Golitha , which was very quiet given that the rain is torrential . Nelly refused to walk , to I took Reubs and was doing some retrieving exercised, which tires him out and he loves it . All going well until a thoroughly miserable looking dogless couple appeared on the scene , Reubs went to say Hello , not charging up at all but looked like he might jump up ( I`m working on it !) so I called him back but he did do a little sort of prance around them before heading back to me . I rewarded him saying Good Lad , to which the man replied , Good Lad ? He needs to learn some manners ! He is a four month old puppy , I replied adding , so whats your excuse mate ? Four months ? fxck off , he said , and the red mist descended , it doesn't happen often but I was so angry . I asked why they had come to a very dog friendly place if they had such an aversion to dogs , he said they were on holiday and would go where they please , expletives . Well , said I , you will be pleased to know that its going to pxss it down for days on end . When I got back to the car park , Paul and Nelly were at the café , and Karen, one of the owners said that a miserable man had been in and asked if anyone knew an old lady ( the cheek of it ! ) with an adult Labrador she was trying to pass off as a puppy !!!!!!! Apparently , they all laughed and said , You mean our Reubs ? Yep, he is only four and a half months old !! Exit man , egg on face but not before Paul had collared him and asked what his issue was , the man ignored him , left and said he would never visit Cornwall ever again , such rude people ! I do feel a bit ashamed of myself for allowing him to rile me , maybe I was wrong not to have better control over Reubs, but he isn't a robot and never will be !
