Travels with my dog.

Are they not in Australia then? Not anywhere?
I found Sydney to be very dog-unfriendly. Even the tiny island in the middle of the road in Elizabeth Bay said “no dogs”!

Cape Town is similar but not so bad. Dogs allowed into some shopping centers but not into the shops. Allowed into the local pharmacy—very welcome actually! Not allowed on public transport. Slowly being allowed into some cafes—the hipster cafes, yes! Very hep to have a dog :).

Unlike Germany. My friend tells me she took her Schnauzer to a Michelin star restaurant! Not out to eat for the dog, obvs! Expensive even for the human!!

Same here - if we're walking any of the dogs past the pharmacy and one of us pops in while the other stays outside with the hounds, the pharmacists will always tell us to bring them in :)
My pharmacy won't let me in with Maisy, I can go into the banks and 'outdoor' shops though. I suppose it depends on the people working there.
Miserable lot :hmm:

Northumbria is the best dog-friendly county. Pubs, shops, cafes - really dog friendly. Round here they are not allowed in shops at all (except service dogs and pups). It varies a lot round the U.K.

Ooh really? I’m always wary of going anywhere but the lakes incase we struggle to find places that let him in.

You can always rely on the lakes to be dog mad!

Some cafes with outside tables will allow you to have your dog with you so long as he/she is well behaved. The only dogs allowed on public transport are guide dogs. As far as I've seen, and certainly in Sydney, no dogs allowed in shopping centres, indoor restaurants etc. Heck, there's even a sign at our local shopping village that you can't take your dog there - even to walk him around outside the shops! It totally sucks
