    Ella, my lumpy bump girl

Oh sweet Ella, she does look discombobulated in that photo 🥺. You’ve done so well for her over the tricky bit, hopefully she’s feeling brighter soon and fingers crossed for results x

    Oreo

She is beautiful. It’s so hard seeing them like that isn’t it, it must be really confusing and disorienting for a while - feeling groggy and sick but not knowing why, on top of the discomfort from the surgery. Hopefully tomorrow will be brighter for her.

    Snowie

This is brilliant to hear, and maybe a prompt for all of us to specifically review pain management needs during vet visits when our companions are reaching their older years (and before).

It is fascinating, from some angles he looks like an English bull terrier!

    Swollen muzzle

Poor Kipper has been bitten by something - I suspect an insect or spider - and his whole nose has swollen up quite substantially. I took him to the vet this morning to check it wasn’t anything else like a tooth or abscess, but we’re pretty sure it’s a bite reaction. So we’re on Piriton...

I need some advice for Reuben please

Kate, I’m sorry this happened and sorry for you and Reuben that he was let down by the vet nurse’s handling. What a shame. I agree with Alison’s advice re the vet coming out to the car; we do this with Stilton, who’s been nervous going into the consulting rooms since he had ongoing ear problems...

Help! We have a border collie for the weekend

Cor, you’re earning your wings! How lovely you were able/willing to help out. @Beanwood ’s suggestions plus variations on a theme - he’s bound to be a bit unsettled so scatters, slow chews (autocorrected to chess - might be possible for a collie? Kipper finds it too boring), lick mats etc...

    Hunter at the vets..

A sheet of grief is such a visceral description. I don’t think it’s surprising the you’ve held off grieving losing your dad in May, it’s such a short time away. It can take years for the deep realisation to take hold, I’m sure at some level it’s self preservation while you get through the other...

    Hunter at the vets..

What an utterly horrible time for you @Loraseal , and I’m so sorry darling Hunter is in pain as well as whatever has happened to his (suspected) shoulder. Sending you huge sympathy in your grief for the one year anniversary of losing your mum, and also for Hunter’s injury. I’m glad your son can...
