    Abscessed anal sac

Poor Ariel was afflicted with this over the weekend. She was very agitated by it - we kept her as comfy as possible by applying an epsom salt mixture to the raw tissue, and we had some Metacam on hand, so we used some of that orally as well. She’s now on antibiotics after her vet visit...

    What is the saying?

A good friend’s cat is nearing the end of his life, dealing with cancer and other issues. He’s 12.5 years old. My friend is accepting his time is near, saying it’s quality over quantity. Isn’t there a saying that’s been shared on the forum, something along the lines of a day early is better...

    Ariel's been unwell

Poor little one has been fighting an ear infection, then she ended up with what the vet called a "hot spot" on her cheek. I was able to get an emergency appointment as it was oozing and doubled in size each day. Also painful and itchy. She's doing much better now. Antibiotics and itch relief...

    Thoughts on Adaptil collars

Hi all. Looking for your thoughts on Adaptil collars please. Ariel was at the vets last week for her annual jabs. The vet is really pleased with her health, weight and overall condition. That being said, we chatted for a bit on Ariel being skittering for the last few months. She’s hesitant...

    Ariel's been a complete star....

Our home has been under big renovations for about 6-7 weeks. Laminate flooring removed throughout the upstairs, 2 new gas fireplaces installed, a fireplace wall built in the living room, drilling through concrete blocks etc to install the downstairs fireplace, hammers, saws, drills, etc etc...

Ariel almost strangled to death....I feel beyond sick

I don’t even know where to begin. Ariel was out with me while I was gardening this morning, hooked on a long lead on the deck, which is often the norm due to our leash laws. A couple of days ago we noticed that her current collar was giving her a rash type thing on her neck, so I changed it...

    Ariel’s doing much better

After posting about her limber tail a few days ago, her tail is almost back to normal. It’s so nice to see the happy wag again, albeit not as strong and fast as it normally is. She looked so much happier on her walk today with her tail up and about, and not all droopy.

    Remembering our previous fur babies

I often get to thinking about our previous pups, and what a huge impact they had on our lives. I was going through some old pictures of them this morning (I'll admit, I did shed a tear or 10), and wanted to share them with you. Jazzmynn is the yellow lab, and Sasha is the white mix. (Jack...

    How to rebuild the trust....

Hi all. So Ariel’s been doing great on her off lead walks in the bush over the last few weeks....she’ll check in, never goes too far off the main trail, comes when she’s called....until the last few days. She now seems to have it in her head that she doesn’t need to come to me if I use a...
