I'm in Canada, so food options are different but I think Molly has similar ongoing issues as Quinn. I chose lamb as the single protein, as it was considered novel given that she had never had lamb in her previous kibbles, so he vet recommended that and oatmeal. I tried a couple options before...

When Quinn was rejecting pills when she was sick, I made a cream cheese ball around her pills and put it in her mouth toward the back (instead of giving it to her like a treat). I've also used pate wet food in the same way. Anything "pill pocket" like she was spitting out.

I try and make a joke of it and yell out "don't throw it for her unless you want a new dog" if I'm close enough. I've also asked strangers to hold her until I get there...truly, I have no shame. :rolleyes: Oh, and she ran into our neighbours house a couple weeks ago...I guess just checking...

Literally both those exact scenarios have happened with Quinn!! I can recall her once from a ball game, but if she gets a second chance to go, she's gone and she always always steals the ball. She gives it, and wants it thrown. She will dance around escaping me if someone else throws for her...

Ugh, it's so hard to watch and so hard to give advice without being preachy. Hopefully she finds a decent trainer and can learn to bond with him and how to handle him in a kind way. I actually avoid some people because I can't stomach to watch them with their dogs, almost makes me cry.
