WE HAVE A POO !!!!!!!! OK, its small and streaked with a bit of blood (presumably from everything that's been stuck inside her since Monday) but its a poo. Hopefully the recovery starts from here.

She’s not got much energy but seems OK otherwise. We’ve been taking her for 10-15 minute sniffy lead walks to keep her mind active. The movement might also encourage some bowel activity.

Still nothing.

Nothing yet. She's had several short walks to try and encourage a poop. If we don't get anything tomorrow morning I'm calling the vet. Its 3 days since the barium meal and no sign of a poop.

She's not pooped yet, but the smells! It like all the fiends of hell have taken up residence in her back passage.

She was in a lot of discomfort on Monday. She just wanted to hide in a corner and be left alone. Last Wednesday she weighed 28.4kg, and has lost 1.7kg since then. She's on a low dose of Salazopyrin to gradually reduce the inflamation in her bowel. That, combined with small & frequent light...

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. Its been a stressful few days. We're just so relieved to have our little girl home and snoozing in the hall (the coolest part of the house).

We’ve no idea what caused it. Talking to the vet there are so many possible causes that it’s impossible to pin it down, especially with a scavenger like Holly. We think a mesh ‘bait muzzle’ might help with the scavenging so I’m looking for one online.

Something positive at last! The problem seems to be an inflammation of her large intestine, not a blockage, so there will be no surgery. Holly will be on frequent small meals, pills and close observation for the next few days. We have to take her back at the first sign of anything wrong...

So are we. There hasn't been much good news from the vet this week.

No poop. I’ve just dropped her off again. We can only hope that the barium meal has moved overnight, otherwise it’s surgery. Now we have to sit back and wait for the outcome.

Holly had a quiet night on our bed snuggled against my legs. She seems a little livelier today. No poop yet. I’ll take her for a short walk around her pooping places before we go to the vet. It might jog her memory.

The good news is that we've just picked Holly up so she's home for the night. The not-so-good news is that the Barium meal seems to slow right down in her large intestine. This could be a blockage or swelling, and there's not enough evidence to know which. They want her back in the morning...

Its good stuff. I keep a small amount in the car with a water spray and towel.

Literally the bottom of things! No news yet. The Barium is still working it’s way through her.

Nor us. I’d rather that the vet was absolutely certain whether there is an obstruction or not. We should get the results in the next couple of hours.

The vet was a bit concerned that Holly vomited yesterday. They're keeping her in for an X ray and possible Barium scan in case there's an obstruction.
