Before anything else, I recommend you pour a nice stiff gin for yourself. You deserve it.

Did you ask the vet about the double-poo triumph? All OK?

    Monty goes Mantrailing

Pongo only has one harness, but he never wears it for "normal" walks or meets, only for agility and (now) trailing. I hardly ever take him to agility now, so I don't think I need a separate harness. I suspect that labs are so naturally "into" the trailing game that they probably don't need...

Yay! The Golden Turd! But yes, I'd call the vet if I were you...just to be sure, and I think they'll be pleased to hear about the Poo's Progress anyway! (You can even send photos. If that isn't a bit weird. )

The Kennel Club - no hoomans allowed!

Its OK Joy, mum says Mas is home and he looks good so all is OK. She says he has got a million bits of chicken and there is cheeeeeeesecake too. But parrantly he hasn't had any food for EVER. Poor Mas. He deserves that chicken.

Lovely. (Pongo is still wondering about that chicken and cheesecake...)

    Updates on Mas.

Oh, excellent news. He'll be so much happier and much more likely to recover in his own den with his own pack. Poor, poor OH (and you). Now your challenge is going to be trying not to give off too many vibes of stress and doom... Mas will wonder what on earth is wrong with his hoomans! Hope...

    Updates on Mas.

I'd get him home. Unlike a human, the dog will not understand why he is in a strange place. He will always be happier at home, much more likely to settle, and (if the condition is partly stress related) just being in a home environment is probably better for him. I sympathise with OH's fears...

I’m a bit frustrated and looking for ideas.

This. Definitely this. I've been shown a technique for controlling the lead by holding the looped (surplus) line in my left hand behind my back, and letting it run through my right hand for control. When the Pongster pulls I can lean back into the line and use my body weight to give a bit...

I’m a bit frustrated and looking for ideas.

Quote from our trainer to the group of five newbies on the second run of our introduction session: "Right everyone, now remember if you are being the 'runner' you need to show the dog the treat, get it really wound up and excited, then run off being interesting and making a squeaky noise...

I’m a bit frustrated and looking for ideas.

Yes, by the end of the second run the runner is heading well out of sight, so the dog needs to use his nose (either trailing or air-scenting). But that is just natural for them - certainly Pongo's nose is 1000 times better than his eyesight, so even when he can see the runner he is using his...

    Updates on Mas.

UK forum coming awake now and picking up the baton. Come on Mas, let's see that poo, lad. Feel those good vibes heading towards your intestines.... Leanne, hope you and OH got some sleep and that today is a Good Day.

I’m a bit frustrated and looking for ideas.

The person he finds takes the treat with them. It is the job of the runner to reward the dog with huge praise and excitement and "the biggest dog party ever". I'm sure Monty will trail. Pongo often isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer either, but the nose knows! On the introduction...

So sorry there's a set-back. Hang in there, Leanne - you're doing brilliantly. Big love to OH too. And Mas.
