Hello friends, I am back home from the UK. Our dear mother passed away peacefully on Saturday evening. It has been a physically and emotionally draining time, but I am so glad I could be with her. I am one of five siblings, and we were all there over the last week, with many of our children and...

    Poppy

Poppy has gone. It was very gentle and peaceful, and the vet was so kind and considerate. Thank you all for being such supports and for sending my dear sweet girl on her way. We were very blessed to have her all these years, but I am so very sad I couldn’t cuddle her at the end. OH is going to...

Mum is hanging on - just. She is mostly asleep, but has periods of lucidity and it is wonderful to be able to be with her in these last few days and hours. We are caring for her at home; she is comfortable, and not afraid or in pain. There is a lot of love surrounding her and emanating from her...

Sadly my mother has taken a turn for the worst, and i have to fly out tomorrow to be with her and to help with her care. This means I have to leave Poppy and my OH to navigate Monday on their own. I know he will deal with it with loving kindness and sensitivity, but I am so so sad about it...

    Poppy

This morning I had a very constructive and helpful conversation with our vet. She thinks that Poppy's life is coming to an end, and all things considered she feels that now is the right time to say goodbye. At the moment Poppy still has times when she feels up to a little walk, or a search for...

    Snowie

Snowie felt your love and commitment to him. He was a lucky, happy boy, and so much loved. You did well Marilyn, please don't allow guilt to cloud your grief (though I understand it, of course, I think it is only natural that we question ourselves).

Oh, that must have been awful for you Alison. I am sorry :( Today I thought I would have to fly to the UK this week, but now I think I can wait until next week. I feel very torn, because of course I want to be with my mother at this time, but I am also sure that if I leave again Poppy will stop...

    Poppy

A recent blood test showed that all her organs are in good working order. I think she just likes to drink because it fills her stomach and doesn't make her feel sick - but that's just my take on it.

My very deepest condolences. Dear Snowie - he was so much loved, and such a character and stalwart of the forum. Run free, dear boy

We have been having the usual rollercoaster up and downs over the past few weeks... I thought Poppy would hate having the little girls to stay, that the commotion would be too much for her - but she and the three-year-old became the best of friends, and she really perked up, eating much...

    Snowie

I've been out of the loop for several weeks. I am so very sorry poor Snowie has been suffering so badly with the itchiness, and I so understand your exhaustion.
