I agree with others, I think Labs are the easier dog once they mature and are over being teenage hooligans. They are calm and steady (mostly) and have an easy care coat that mostly repels dirt (I imagine cockers trap a lot more dirt and leaves, burrs etc). The cockers I've met are mostly lovely...

That said, the more I've learnt about Ahmad al Ahmad the more amazed I am by his heroism. He's a Syrian Muslim and from what I've read a refugee. He was unarmed. A regular dad with young kids. What a hero and Good Person. I hope people don't forget that in all this.

We are very, very sad here. How could someone attack innocent civilians, including children? And longer term, all this does is provided space for opportunists to try to divide us further.

Today we took Chewie to kindergarten drop off for the first time. He is a slow walker and at the start of the year we weren't sure if dogs were allowed into the drop off area (they are and the teachers love it). He was SO good. The duty teacher loved him and said he was very well behaved...

We have had the same Ruffwear lead for an eternity. It's one of the rope ones and is just fantastic quality. Though now that you mention it maybe Chewie needs a new collar...

Chewie was like this. We did an "adolescent" training class and he always mastered everything really quickly and then decided to bark and lunge at everything and everyone like an over excited jerk. Good times.

Chewie usually screams at guests for five minutes and then retires to bed. Our cleaners also said that he looked "like an emperor" lying on the bed. 😂

Our cleaners came over today. They are a lovely couple who adore Chewie but he has become so placid around them that I think they would like a bit more attention. Today they walked into my bedroom and said hello to him and he didn't even get off the bed. 😂
