Wish I could find a trainer like Lauren Good sound advice but sometimes difficult to put into action on the spot. I like her no blame, no judgement attitude too. Also am pleased that I don't have to have a verbal cue for A-B as sometimes I have been known to say the wrong thing! x

Once you get to grips with the no blame, no judgement it frees you to concentrate on your dog and helping them through/out of the situation - it was an epiphany for me.

I am booked onto her chase course, 1st September, after a heart in the mouth moment when she chased a cat. Whilst she didn't catch it, I actually felt rather sick just thinking about the consequences. I will write up some notes here after the course.

I've just started the A-B turn game that @snowbunny posted on another thread and Carbon loves it. Too early to see if it will help with the 'surprise' dog coming at him on leash, but I'm really hopeful. It also cements the reputation I must be building around town as that crazy dog lady. We did a bunch of fast U-turns tonight in the main square and along the narrow lanes around the cathedral.

I'm sure I looked bonkers.

I have met some quite horrible trainers that made me feel like a complete plank rightly or wrongly I think we have all had those heart in mouth moments, I can think of one or two with Charlie Good luck. xx

I'm sure we all do, I've now got this lovely image of us all around the world marching our dogs around doing about turns on a sixpence! I have actually explained to my neighbours that if I see them and turn my back on them not to take offence!

Yes I need to try and let people know what I’m doing - I did the A to B the other evening when someone with a Lab appeared around a corner and `I knew Red would react. It all happened really quickly but I saw the surprised look on her face - don’t want people to think I am being anti social ??.
