Buddy at 4 months old

IMG_20190128_194913_565.jpgBuddy is now 4 months old, how time flies! This is partly an update and partly for me to look back and see how far we have progressed! He settles and sleeps well on a night in his crate, even if he is a fan of an early morning! We usually go back to sleep on the sofa for a couple of hours after a trip outside. This is the only time he comes to snuggle on my lap, in the evening he sleeps either on the sofa or the floor, no evening snuggles!
Sit and wait is really good in the house, and he waits politely until he is told he can eat his food.
Walks are good, he not a big puller (yet!), which is good as he weighed in at 17.4kg at the vets on Friday
Recall is a work in progress, he got good at coming back to the whistle when not too distracted, but this has slipped a bit, partly our fault for missing practise a few days, back to basics on this one.
We also need to work on leaving him home alone more, we are lucky in that we both work from home a lot of the time, but when we do need to leave him he is crying in his crate even for short periods, so back to basics on that one too.
We think he has just started teething, as he is chewing his toys loads, but thankfully not yet the crocopup I was expecting to be chewing on us, not sure if we have struck lucky or if thats still to come!
Have given up on ever having a nice back lawn and garden ever again (luckily there not much garden out the back), but that's a small price to pay when that cute face is the reason!

Oh bless him , what a smashing photo of Buddy ! Sounds like he is coming along very nicely and yes, repetition is key , re training ,but expect the odd fail too . Reuben has days when his recall isn't as good as it could be , so we just write it off and start again the next day . All in all , Buddy is doing great and lucky you re missing the crocopup stage, it isn't pleasant ! xxx

Maxx was a demon crocopup from the second day we brought him home. I reckon that if he hasn't started turning your hands and arms to shreds by now then he probably won't!

Buddy is just gorgeous

What a gorgeous picture of little Buddy; he has a lovely soulful expression :) sounds like you’re making great progress together and hooray on avoiding the little crocopup stage! We were told to expect a ‘second teething’ when Kipper got his adult teeth through. He wasn’t bad actually, just a bit more chewy than usual! the key is to make sure he has things to chew ;)

He's absolutely gorgeous, and sounds like he's settling in really well.

As for the lawn, I've given up on the idea of it ever looking nice again with Pepper constantly running round and round.

Beautiful boy.
Sounds like he’s doing really well.
I thought I’d never have a decent garden again but Plum stopped charging round it like a hooligan, maybe around 6 months, and it all grew back (apart from the wee spots on the lawn unfortunately).

He is adorable
Sounds like he is doing really well. Harley was never really a crocopup or a chewer as a pup and still isn’t. Think I got lucky!
