Collar Mystery

About a month ago David took Charlie for a walk in the woods. Charlie went off lead keeping in sight but on his return he didn't have his lovely Copenhagen collar on which he has only had for about 2 months. Charlie was quite worried with his tail between his legs. David backtracked to see if he could find it but nothing. We don't know if he got stuck on something and backed out of it or someone grabbed him by the collar and he backed out of it out of fear. Nobody appeared to be around that David could see or hear. Either way a lovely expensive collar is gone. Only Charlie!! x

Did it have a plastic clasp? They can break if the collar is yanked, perhaps caught on a branch. But tail between legs doesn’t sound good.

That's strange isn't it, reminds me of the post - can't remember who from - about the dog who came back with a furless patch on it's leg. Really odd.

a furless patch on it's leg
A vet friend looked at the photo for me and said - "yep, we get that with dogs and horses, he's caught it on something and got lucky the skin didn't break."
So no foul play, but I still don't quite see how he could lose all that fur and no skin at all!
