It’s dark now when Red and I go out for a walk around the village. I put a light on her colllar and a light
on me and I wear my bright orange jacket. So many people walk in dark clothes and with dark dogs! I get minimal warning that they are approaching. Red has been doing great with our A to B tactic on seeing other dogs. These past few nights though we have been so close when we’ve seen the dog walker’s and she has reacted with a lunge (not as bad as she used to do). I have managed to get her relatively quickly focussed by saying ‘this way’ and steering her away but I need to be doing that to prevent the lunge. It suddenly dawned on me this evening I need to go back to when we were first training this and practice it even when we aren’t seeing other dogs.
