Day out by the sea

Yesterday Cassie and I had a lovely day out with a friend, visiting the lovely Dovey estuary where it meets Cardigan Bay, north of Aberystwyth. Just a couple of hours drive from here, it's the go to seaside day out. There is the usual seaside village a couple of miles away, which has a beautiful beach, and lovely for children, but you can drive on to the sand on the estuary and there is ample parking for all and no restriction for dogs :happyfeet:. We've been going there for ever, over the years with the dogs and ponies that shared my childrens growing up years, so many memories, and it never disappoints.

And yesterday was no different, the weather was perfect and only a handful of other visitors and friendly dogs. We had a good 2 hours walk on the sands, the tide was right out, I don't think I've seen it so far out before. Cass was brilliantly well behaved and had many happy zoomies! And just a couple of play sessions with some other dogs --- she just couldn't resist!! It took ages to get to the sea's edge, and then when we did there were many jelly fish swimming in the shallows! So no paddling for anyone!

Then after our picnic we drove right round to the pretty little town the other side of the river, I've never done that before. Ice creams for the humans and a beefy burger Doggy Yoggi for my canine star :star:. And back home via a slightly different, but very scenic route.

Once my feet were up I rounded of a super day with a glass ( or was it two %)) of delicious rhubarb and ginger gin --- thanks @edzbird :)20190712_140948.jpg
This is looking up the river in land, the clouds are obscuring the Snowdonian mountains which you can sometimes see, but not yesterday. The tide is so far out you can barely see the river itself!!20190712_140813.jpg

Haha!! As long as he's happy !! Does he like it there?

I will be in Aber next week, for my son's graduation, I'm looking forward to it very much.
He's just finished his first year and is enjoying it very much so we don't mind the journey! xx

Enjoy your son's graduation, it's a very proud day indeed. Grace's was lovely at Cardiff Uni, I was very emotional and the only Mum to cheer! :wasntme: xx
