When my son was 6 years we decided to get him a dog. He had wanted one for years but he had dyspraxia and we were afraid when he was younger he might fall and maybe hurt a little puppy so we held off till then. I remember getting him to close his eyes and handing him the little pup.. he burst into tears, from then on it was one boy and his dog.
He was a cross lab collie looked more like a lab but was as quick as a collie. He had the best nature and always on the go.
He was a couple of months off 18 years when he had a stroke. We knew it was time and in my heart i knew it was the right decision. We all held his paw and cuddled him. The vet was great, very gentle.. that was 6 years today.
