Sorry to hear the news from the vet on the elbow @Anne123 but try not to worry. Your vet sounds as if they are being very thorough and ED takes many different forms and surgery isn't always needed or the best option. Fingers crossed for you and Finn xx

There was a world of difference with Finn walking this morning. The painkillers are doing it’s job. He was very happy walking, in front now, and we didn’t have to wait for him to come. He is clearly feeling better! He got his meloxicam today and we have to wait and see if it stays this way. Fingers crossed...

That's good news. Don't let him overdo it though Anne, he is supposed to rest too, even if he feels better! It's a fine balance...
