First lesson next week

I have bitten the bullet , Reuben is starting training next week with , I hope , an ideal trainer who has some land on the moors not far from where we live . To begin with he is going to address the issue with charging off into the woods when first let off lead , he never goes for more than a very few minutes but I would rather he didnt go in the first place , so a lesson or two or three in reinforcing recall and stop . I am assured that no negative methods are employed , firm but fair and kind . Once we have polished up the stop , we will move on to more gundoggery stuff which I know he will soak up and love xx

Just typical ,we had lunch out and then I took the dogs for a walk , Reuben was spot on with recall today, never missed once , but he is still going next Thursday as it needs a bit of sharpening up xx Edited to say that it can be inconsistent at times , I`m looking forward to taking the next step with the lad x

Hope you both have fun! Reuben's recall is marvellous as far as I'm concerned, but I know you worry about him at Golitha. Maybe this will let you get him off lead there, too.
