Going into a corner to rock x

Where to start ? Yesterday I had a really productive day in the garden , but " someone " left a bucket out with last weeks grass clippings in it , and upon looking up from weeding , I saw that Reuben was helping himself, again . He eats grass , fresh rooted grass which doesn't seem to have adverse effects but I just knew that the dried clippings were going to cause explosions , I was right , it was 2.a.m. when said explosions started .
I wont go into the horrible details except to say that the house stank like a sewage treatment works , laced with Dettol , back to bed I went but by now wide awake so I read some rubbish on the kindle . Paul said , you stay in bed, I will look after the dogs , oh yes ?
I don't know what made me look out of the bedroom window , but I did and saw soil flying all over the lawn and Reuben behind a large shrub, digging for all he was worth . He spotted me and ran in , it has rained and so he left a trail of muddy earth all over the floor before leaping onto the bed , on my nice clean duvet cover to greet me and smother me in soily kisses . And where was Paul ? Fast asleep in his electric chair which believe me , I sometimes wish were an electric chair ! Totally oblivious to all the chaos he was , with his headphones on and gently snoring ! And when my ire finally woke him , and he discovered what Reuben had done , his immortal words were " Well I guess that shows that he cant be trusted out on his own ! " No matey , he cant, because he is seven months old !
He has gone shopping with Debbie , no doubt regaling her with tales of how horrible I am to him, it wont wash , not for a minute and I hope he stays out for some considerable time xxx

Oh god what a night! Is it too early for gin?

This reminds me of when Mas ate those bloody brownies, OH STILL maintains it wasn’t his fault despite the fact that he was in charge of Mas when he did it 🙄

Oh dear @kateincornwall , as the owner of a 10 month puppy I feel your pain (and having a hopeless OH as well). But I have to admit the vision of Reuben digging did make me laugh (sorry) .
At least Reuben stayed safe and enjoyed himself, even at the expense of your garden and clean duvet. And your day should only get better - in the absence of gin I'd be breaking out the tea and biscuits.

I’m sorry. But it is so funny... for one whose puppy memories are long gone.

We’ve lowered our standards. Big hole in garden. Dirty duvet. Who would’ve thought this would be us 7 years on. Dog on bed vs dirt on bed. Ummm actually that isn’t correct—there’s no vs! We have both!

Paul looks after the dog exactly as my Phil does.

I remember the days of him watching over her as she dug through the rubbish bin and he had no clue whatsover what she was doing.
"Where is she?" I would ask. "I don't know" he would reply.
"Why not, you're supposed to be watching her", "She's alright, anyway she's your dog".
I feel your pain.
