Great Poo Bags!

I use biodegradeable poo bags, but even so they still can take upto 18 months to fully degrade, so not that great. A friend of mine uses these, they are made of cornstarch and are fully home compostable and degrade in 90 days so NO more PLASTIC which is a huge plus as landfill is such a massive concern. Our oceans are being chocked by plastic and sea creatures are being killed by plastic  They are more expensive but I think it's worth it.

Just thought I'd share :) xx

Fantastic! You can get red ones too for £10.99 on Amazon :)

I didn't realise that although the other biodegradable ones say 18 months, they don't "fully" degrade. @Charlie was it you that has a doggy compost bin? :)

Nice call. I hate all the use of plastic, but another concern here is that there's nowhere separate to put the poo, so it goes in with normal rubbish if you throw it away. Organic material doesn't degrade normally in landfill because of the lack of oxygen and produces loads of methane, so it's really bad for the environment. We don't use poo bags here, but pick up and put in a bigger bin which gets thrown every few days - there's a lot of poo with four dogs! At least that way there's far less plastic being used, but it still makes me uncomfortable that it goes into landfill. I'm still toying with the idea of a poo composter but I'm pretty sure the worms will die in a commercial one in the heat we have, so I might just get J to make a sunken one somewhere... away from the house!
