Went out for a short time , Nelly can be left in the sitting room and hallway , Reuben behind the baby gate in the kitchen , a locked baby gate . Came home to see them both looking out of the sitting room window , baby gate wide open !

Did you just shut it at the top and the ball did not go in at the bottom. Vanilla managed to work out how to open and it still looked like it was shut.

I hate to even suggest this, but with those lovely long legs, can he not just easily jump a baby gate at this point?

He wouldn't jump it, because no one has shown him that he can ! He could clear it easily but as yet it hasn't occurred to him to try ! I am now convinced that " someone " didn't close the gate properly ! xx

I'm hoping Kipper never realises how easily he'd do babygates too, since he apparently has wings They're very easy to close without the click, I'm sure that was it xx

My Labs would never think to jump a baby gate. Ginny has - but Pods are renowned for being able to jump very high vertically from a standing start.

Maxx is thankfully too chunky to jump. Even when he is about to jump up and put his paws on the kitchen bench he has to start with little baby jumps that gradually get higher and higher until he manages to get both front paws up. Also thankfully he does these cute little grunts so we hear him and know what he is up to.

That said, anytime OH gets out of bed and I'm still in it Maxx's latest 'thing' is to jump into bed with Mum and dance on her head He seems to do that quite gracefully (the jumping, not the dancing)
