I am about to divorce OH

Thanks again everyone. At least now I know I am not the only one wanting to kick an OH!
It may be some time before I can walk them again but I can get out into the garden to keep their training up. This is my special time with my dogs except for cuddles. The dogs love their training time.
Gah!!! Men are so bloody frustrating!!

This must be so frustrating for you!

We also have some differences in walking style, which have at times annoyed me greatly. Since they don't involve yelling or aversives I have tried to be more relaxed about them. I have, however had several run-ins with men who think they know better about training than I do, so I feel your pain! I have often wondered about the gender divide in dog training. It is worthy of a research paper!

Also it's often mostly women attending training classes. Doug's physio whos a man says it's mostly women who bring their dogs for treatment too. He prefers it because he says some blokes try to turn it into a pissing contest. He finds that women and most men follow instructions but there's some men who just can't leave their egos at the door.

I think that most dog trainers are probably women. We are the ones (usually) who raise the children and deal with the pets so it is only a small step to training the dogs. Having said that I have met a few single men who are very positive dog trainers. I guess they are the equivelent of a single dad in this conversation. The married people I know seem to have the women as the dog trainer. I must ask them if they ever feel like kicking their men out over dog training.
