The only way to describe my welcome is rapturous. She stood on her back paws and hugged me with her front ones, she cried, she brought me both slippers, a sock and all her toys, she weed in the hallway. We took both dogs for a short walk in the dark and when we got home she did zoomies. I opened the back door and we did zoomies together round the garden. She's just so lovely!

This is so wonderful to read, not only because of your clearly special bond, but also because so many people would have phrased that differently:
She jumped up. She whined. She nicked my slippers and a sock. Then she had a wee.

It's so heartwarming to read the kindness in your words, as well as appreciate the devotion in how she responded to you :)

Oh! You know I never would have thought of it in the alternative way that you have just described, Fiona! I didn't even mind the wee! I just thought how lovely it was that she was so pleased to see me. I am obviously completely and utterly besotted and I suspect there's no hope for me whatsoever!:inlove::cwl::cwl::cwl:
