That " I think I will follow them " , this was Reuben this morning ! Mind you , I was a tad annoyed with the owner of the spaniel who thought it was a good idea to give my puppy treats , so in a way , I cant blame him for tagging on ! The good thing was that , after his initial deafness , he suddenly turned and ran back to me, phew !Meanwhile , Nelly had found a mouse hole , was digging for all she was worth and got plastered in muddy earth , oh what fun , in the rain ! xx

Oooh, scary for a bit but thank goodness he came back. I agree with your sentiments about the spaniel's owner, people can be thoughtless with the very best of intentions.

Oh gosh, Squidge was a horror for this when she was a young pup, so confident! Just keep plodding on with the good feelings with you, and he’ll get over it.

The big test will be the beach next week . Reuben is a very confident fearless little lad , so I think I might use the long training line to start with , see how he reacts to the massive space !x

I did this with Red when she was six months at the beach. She almost pulled my arms out their sockets - so beware - and she’s a small Labrador

Will it be his first beach trip, Kate? I thought I remembered him going on a little one maybe still on lead or carried? Or that could have been the forest now that I think of it. In either case, BEACH! Exciting puppy stuff!
