Induction Hob ?

Maisy has been behaving really weird lately. For example, she will suddenly get up from lying somewhere downstairs and then run upstairs to hide.
Also, when we get home from work she will not get out of the car and into the house, Phil is cooking dinner usually.

Today, I put the hob on for dinner and she asked to be let out of the kitchen to go upstairs again, that suddenly lit a light bulb in my head.

A friend of mine has a hearing aid and when she came to look at our new kitchen it started whistling, as they do.
I thought it might be the induction although it was not switched on. When it is off Maisy is fine.

I know some of you on here have inductions, have you noticed your dogs reacting at all?

We have an induction hob we use most days. I’ve noticed it makes noise when we use anything with an aluminum content (not induction-hob friendly) or have something slightly off the ring. Kipper doesn’t visibly react to it, but I’ll keep a closer eye from now on. It does sound like Maisy might be sensitive to it. If it’s been with you a while, is it worth getting it serviced to check it’s in good working order?

I was going to say this. Ours makes a slight high pitched noise when it's on high heat so maybe Maisy is sensitive to it? Chewie predictably doesn't care. Or possibly hears it and comes to wait in the kitchen for snacks.

I’ve had an induction hob since the end of last year and haven’t noticed mine react. Like Chewie, they’re usually waiting at my feet waiting for veg peelings, or at the other side of the kitchen gate if I’m in a hurry and don’t want to trip over them!

Tuppence can’t stand the beeping of the burglar alarm panel when there’s a low battery fault, though, so certain high-pitched noises affect her.

It is new as our kitchen was only finished a few weeks ago (after several water leaks and an exploding washing machine ).

I think she is super sensitive and it could be the noises the hobs make but they work by magnetic induction between the pan and hob so I think it might be the 'magnetic waves' or pulses or whatever it is. I googled it and the question has been asked by several others so I think there might be a link, I will have to experiment and might end up having to change it, would be just my luck. In a way I hope it is that as it would help Maisy and solve the mystery of the strange behaviour.
