Itchy paws

Ella seems to have itchy paws this evening. She's been licking away at all of her paws, on and in between the pads. It's not frantic and all consuming as she's happily snuggled on my lap at the moment but it's definitely out if the ordinary.

My only idea is that she's walked on something so I've wiped down her paws. Obviously I'll keep an eye on it and will seek veterinary support if needed but I'm interested to know if there are any other obvious causes that I should be thinking about?

Brogan used to get itchy paws in Germany at the end of the summer. Apparently it was grass allergies. Probably not the same thing as you're nearly done will your autumn, but could that have something to do with it?

Maxx caught a fungal thrush thing from going in a stagnant boh. The vet gently pulled his pads apart and inside it was bright red.

In Europe we have 'stinging nettles', that are not dangerous but will make a dog's pads tingle and itch. Have you got any plants like that Ella could have trod on?

I’m bringing Axel to the vet this morning as his itchy paws turned into a full blown infection. I think it was due to pollen allergy. There was a lot of pollen underneath a tree in my yard he likes to play under and roll in, he would come upstairs and he would all the sudden be a yellow lab I tried using silver spray which always helps his paws if they get irritated. That didn’t help so I moved on to antibiotic cream from my work- that helped maintain it but I figure day three and it’s not any better so off to the vet we go.

I hope Ella’s doesn’t get any worse and clears up quickly!
