Joy at Flyball.

Took little Joy to flyball again yesterday morning and came home very proud of her. To start with, she walked all the way there on a loose leash (she loves flyball and has always tended to try pulling on the way there previously). Then at one point when she was retrieving the ball from the sloping board, the board slipped and fell flat on the floor. I could see this startled her and wasn't expecting her to continue, also wondered if the experience might put her off flyball, but I called her back to me and she grabbed the ball, turned and came flying back over all four hurdles just as she should have done! I was SO proud of her, my good brave little girl! She seems to be going through a lovely phase of learning things really quickly at the moment, and growing in confidence generally and it's beautiful to see.

Hooray, well DONE GoodGirlJoy! She sounds a fabulous game girl, how impressive that she bounced back so quickly from the slipped board. That's a lovely post, thank you @Candy. Flyball is clearly Joy's element (and yours too maybe?), I'll really look forward to hearing how you both continue with it.

Joy and I have missed flyball for two Sundays because of her injured leg one week and because we away the next week. Back on top form today though, Joy really eager and raring to go. She was totally spot-on at everything today. The trainer pronounced her 'a superstar' and said that she had become a natural leader at flyball. My funny little Joy, a natural leader !!! I think flyball has really helped develop our bond, her self confidence and my confidence in her ability to learn and focus. We'll miss the final two sessions unfortunately as I'll be on holiday but I think I'm going to sign us up for agility for when I get back. That'll be something to look forward to!

Oh what fun, do keep posting on agility if you do sign up - I'd love to hear about it! Joy sounds like she has a huge aptitude for flyball and active sports, and clearly you're a very useful helper ;) What a fantastic activity for you to be doing together, particularly when you have the skills for it.

Oh I need to get Shadow back to agility. I might wait till his paw is healed and then send the trainer a message. Willow isn’t up for the journey which is such a shame because she loves the actual agility. Maybe I should have a go with Squidge, although I dread to think how that would turn out :cwl:

Joy sounds like a complete natural. I think we need videos :D
