Lack of Ticks

Has anyone else noticed the lack of ticks? Could the excessive heat have killed them? I am not even picking them off before they attach. Currently at the point of not applying a spot on due to this. A good thing as I hate the little buggers. xx

Don't think we have noticed any on Lilly, though she is still within the active window for Bravecto.
I do know there have been a few on Sophie's dogs at work though, and not just the ones that Sophie and the girls (and I :D ) take to the woods and fields. I'm not sure they get any specific tick treatments.

Finn has had no ticks...Your post made me think. Finn always gets one or two even with protection! Maybe the heat indeed! When I think through, the deer and other wood animals had a tough time and many died. They are the host of ticks

I don’t use tick treatment in the summer, only the spring and autumn here. It wouldn’t surprise me if the heat you’ve had has been too much for them.
Interesting that I took some off the dog who walked with us yesterday though! I’ve not seen any around here since spring.

Same as @Beanwood, early season we’d have one or two every week or so but noticeably none in the last 3 weeks. But we do regularly walk in deer-heavy areas ? so will keep up the treatment at the mo - it seems Kipper’s tasty when they are about!

Ticks don't like hot dry weather, that's why there havent been many around. I never use any tick treatment during the summer months, just the spring and sometimes in the autumn, depending on the weather.

@HAH, you should remove ticks as soon as possible rather than waiting for the tick repellent to kill them, to stop them passing on any nasty diseases.
