It worries me a bit that (I maybe paraphrase.....) the idea of the scheme is to make breeders and buyers understand which tests are important.

Its disappointing that breeders need educating still!!
And it sounds like there may be a bit of a monopoly on who does the tests. Don't particlarly like that myself.

Though if it's a step in the right direction........

Unfortunately you only have to look in puppy ads to see the lack of testing in many litters of pups - and that includes KC Accredited Breeders :( . The KC only require hips and a current eye certificate though.


And it sounds like there may be a bit of a monopoly on who does the tests. Don't particlarly like that myself.
Not overly keen on this restriction but I guess it does help to maintain standards /reliability of testing
