I thought this might interest some of you. FDSA has just launched their "Pet Professionals Program", which is aimed at providing continuing education for pet professionals. It's not a certification program, but a collection of online workshops scheduled throughout the year with some of the FDSA instructors. The format is, lectures and/or video are published on day 1 (a Sunday), and you have seven days to study and practice, then you send your homework to the instructor for them to review, answer questions, and give feedback on.
Each workshop is US$29.95, so they're pretty economical.
I think I'll sign up for a few along the way; you don't have to be a professional to do so, and I think as long as you have an interest in dog training, behaviour and other related skills, there could be some workshops of interest, but in a format where you don't have to commit to a much longer course if time is limited.
