Nelly has suffered from a degree of OCD behaviour since she came to live with us four years ago , she still chases lights to the point that we keep the sitting room curtains closed in the mornings other wise the sun reflecting on walls sends her into a frenzy , like wise torch light . One of the other things she does is to obsessively lick things when she is excited such as when I am preparing their food she will madly lick my kitchen dresser or the dishwasher door .
More recently she has decided to eat the small gravel on our back patio , we obviously stop her but she goes under the garden table to try and eat the stones where she thinks we cant see her , she has thrown up stone in the past and of course this habit is very worrying but how to stop it ? We could in theory remove all the stones and either grass or concrete the area, both these would be big jobs with loads of prep needed . Debbie then told me that she has seen garden rugs so I`ve been online and ordered this , its made from recycled plastic and can stay out in all weather . If one wont cover the area we need to cover then I will buy a second one , this will then just about cover the whole stones patio , little tyke x I ordered the very large size x
