Only barking with mom or dad

Aspen only barks when someone is home with him. For example, if the mailman buzzes the doorbell to let us know they’ve dropped off a package, Aspen will bark if I am home and inside with him. However, if Aspen is home alone and package is dropped off and the mailman buzzes the doorbell or knocks, Aspen doesn’t even budge! He doesn’t seem to care if it is just him. I only know this because our Furbo alerts us of Aspen barking or moving around paired with me getting a delivery! Why might this be?

Because you are not in so he doesn't need to remind you to get the mail.

Yes, Finn does this too! He tells me that someone is at the door! I asked the mailman if he barks when I am not at home and he doesn’t!

Chewie does this too. I know because my parents were on our verandah waiting for us to arrive home for 5 minutes, with him inside. Not a peep. When we are home he does a single soft bark to announce visitors.
