Pooing overnight?

Well this is a new one.

For the past few nights I have got up in the morning to a poo in the corner of the dining room... if I’m honest, both me and OH assumed it was Leo (elderly but never has accidents) and so we cleaned it up quick and never mentioned it to each other (denial much?)

Anyway it’s the little sod! I know this because he’s just done it in the exact same spot right in front of me 😳

He’s not been in the crate for a few months now.. but this is new behaviour! He’s walked religiously before bed, he actually did a poo before bed last night..

Could it be the Millie’s wolfhart? OH bought the wrong food and put him on peak performance instead of riverside? Maybe we are feeding too much of it?

Are his poos nice and firm? Soft poos are hard to hold on to. If they are not kickable then Pro-Fibre will help firm them up. Too much food also gives soft poos.

It could be the change of food Leanne. If this is a new behaviour maybe using the crate again might help? Also cleaning the poo area with Simple Solution to get rid of the odour to him. Hope you get it sorted. x

Try some pro fibre, smaller meals and some bones in his diet. All this will help firm up his poos. Also try feeding him later if he usually has an early meal.

Oh god don’t make me use the crate again. The howling. I still hear it 😂😂

I think I need to use the simple solution and I’ve been feeding him earlier not later so he has his dinner at 5pm... although with the time change that’s 6pm.. it’s all so confusing

I too suspect it's the change in food. My last Lab got upset stomachs very easily (whereas nothing seems to upset Molly). Could you get a bag of the original and mix it with the new?

We don’t actually want the new! It’s high fat for a start.... OH ordered it by mistake but then opened the bag and poured it in... it’s just it’s £50 a bag and frankly that’s not money I can just chuck away so I was hoping he could tolerate it for a few weeks 😔

This made me LOL.

This would be OH if Stanley poo’d in the house. He would know I would not be happy so he would cover for him 😂🙈

(Unless he was unwell or had been left too long of course).

You could get a bag of the right stuff then just mix a little of the new stuff in until it’s gone :)
