Just got in for the night to our new digs and this has been worrying me since Carbon had a very revolting poo this afternoon...
(you've been warned)
...it had large white 1 inch or so long plump worms in it!
They were definitely dead and were not the long thin worms or 'bits of rice'-type segments I've seen in foster dogs in the past. Long story, but he got into a compost bucket this morning and ate some bread. I think the worms were there and they passed through him from the time he ate them (8-ish) to the time he eliminated (3-ish). Does that sound about the right time for doggie digestion?
Does anyone know if I need to get him to the vet for this? Normally I'd probably wait to see how his poos are for a day or so, but as tomorrow if Friday and vets are closed on the weekend, it's kind of tomorrow or nothing.
He is not lethargic, has no stomach bloating or belly painfulness (at least that he's letting on) and had quite the normal voracious appetite for dinner tonight.
May I just say ew, ew and triple ew.
