Split nail

Reuben is off to the Vets in ten minutes , he has split a nail right through . We are due a gas check so Paul has to take him, its a good job Reuben loves going to see the nurses and Vets x

Hope he gets something to ease the pain a bit. That’d hurt, poor boy.

He is such a good boy , he wasnt limping but was putting that paw down with some trepidation , he let me look at it and then cried when I touched that part of his pad and nail but never a growl x

And he is back , he has had the nail trimmed right back and a painkiller, plus metacam to give for a day or two , take it easy is not something he understands

I'm sure he'll be feeling fine again now that the nail has been trimmed and he has the painkillers. To be honest, I have found it tricky keeping my dogs quiet after a split nail, they forget about it so quickly once it has been dealt with! And as you say, hard to keep a young chap down... Maybe a day with walks just on lead, but by tomorrow he'll be raring to go again.

He couldnt care less even though it looks a bit sore , typical Reuben . I`ve bathed it in salt water, he is very compliant , no flinching at all , bless xx

No playgroup for the boy today , his nail is still tender so he can stay home and have another short walk, one that does not involve running around too much, better safe than sorry x

He is a bit subdued this morning , so I think its hurting him , he seems quite happy to stay cuddled up to me on the sofa , what a blasted pair we are

My lovely boy has been such a velcro dog today , he came to lay by the bathroom door whilst I took a shower , then into the bedroom during bed making and by my side on the sofa the rest of the time , bless his heart x
