The dreaded sound

We just woke up to that dreaded pre-vomit sound (you know, the "g-lug, g-lug, g-lug"). I ran into the lounge room just as Ella vomited. On the rug - why is it always on the rug  (the only bit of carpet in our entire house).

She's now eaten it, gone back to bed and is currently snoring. And I'm lying here wide awake, listening for any sound of a repeat performance :sick:

The first time I heard that noise I was in bed and I thought the neighbours were “doing it”. I looked at OH like

Why is it always on the rug though? Stanley will run in from the garden, over the Lino then the laminate to get the rug. Why did I get a shaggy rug?!

Hope Ella is ok x

Rory gets upset and gets on knee smacking his lips. I get him outside quick. Hopefully Ella will be ok now her tummies adjusted it's load

Sounding like a terrible pet parent here, but I don't get up for dog or cat pukes. I just boot the cats off the bed and try to remember to be careful where I step in the morning. Xena's night pukes have only ever been hunger-related, so I've never felt the need to panic.

Oh no, poor Ella. Hope she is ok Emily. And yes, recently familiar with that sound as Maxx had two mornings of puking about a week ago. Pretty sure it was because he drank swamp water

Interesting Sophie - 'hunger related'? What does that mean?

It's something that I learnt from TLF. A lot of members had issues with their dog/s puking bile in the early hours of the morning. Vet advice was that it can be caused by an empty stomach, so to give the dog a small "supper" before bedtime. Problem solved. I decided to try it - I withhold a small amount of kibble from dinner, and she gets it after her bedtime wee. No more hunger pukes since. It's just something to keep in mind as Maxx gets older.

I wonder.....both times he did it I was surprised at how little there was and it was just bile. I'd hate to think the poor little (or not so little) thing was so hungry he threw up. I'm going to do the same and give him a little snack at bedtime. He often has a small Kong then but maybe a bit of kibble held back - as you said. Thanks!

Ugh the worst. I woke up the other morning to Gizmo making that noise. My god is he loud! He had left 6 spots of vomit around the house... 6!!!

Nothing like that sound to wake me up out of a deep sleep. Then the frantic scramble out of bed, both of us rushing down the stairs, through the kitchen, to the back door...inevitably as I fumble with the door handle Simba will puke on the carpet runner by the door before I can get it open.
